We’ll all know about Google Glass by now, that functional, funky bit of tech-ware – or perhaps tech-wear is more appropriate – that comes straight from a sci-fi movie set in the future. However, just in case you’ve been off-planet for the past year of so and don’t know all about it, a simple description should suffice. Basically, Google Glass is a computer you can wear in the form of a pair of glasses.

Obviously, there’s a lot you can do with a bit of neat tech like this, not the least of which is pretending that you’re a Terminator unit arriving in the past to hunt down unhappy blonde women… or something.

Anyway, on September 8, during the TechCrunch Disrupt SF 2013 hackathon, the latest Google Glass app, Glashion, was revealed to the world. Using Glashion, Glass wearers can take a picture of a fashion item seen in a store or on somebody walking by and the app will search ShopStyle API for matches. When you see the product you want, you just tell your Glass. You either tap to buy or swipe to see more products. If you tap then the app will send you an email with a link to the product on a site where you can buy it.

According to Billy Mauro, who set up Glashion with Felipe Servin, Glashion is a way to show how Glass can be used to bridge online and offline shopping activity.

So there it is, Google Glass’ latest app. Now, if you’re not busy trying to destroy the mother of humanity’s salvation (or something), you can shop for a thing as soon as you see it. The future IS here!
