Ello Strips Down For NSFW Month

Let the internet wars begin! After Google’s will-they-won’t-they adult content farce last week, Ello have decided to use it to their advantage by declaring March ‘NSFW Month’.

Buoyed by the outcry to Google’s initial ban, and perhaps Reddit’s decision to outlaw both ‘revenge porn’ and sexual/nude images uploaded without the subject’s permission, Ello have made a play that will gather them more than enough press. Not bad work for a site continually pronounced dead by techies and industry watchers worldwide.

Ello has already been dubbed the alternative social network of choice after opening their arms to a cavalcade of drag queens cast out by Facebook for not allowing them to use their stage names. Whether NSFW March will convince the biz they can forge a new path, then Ello might become a contender very soon. Their one sticking point may be Tumblr, already well established and cited as the first real alternative post-Google exodus.
