Well, not overall, but in terms of porn viewing habits, a study conducted by Pornhub has revealed that women seem to prefer a little man-on-man action. As much as some men enjoy watching dolled-up lesbians go at each other, the female of the species appear content with watching two or more oiled up hunks rail each other like there’s no tomorrow. Women are also very keen on sapphic erotica too, with lesbian videos taking pride of place at the top of their search lists.

Using anonymized analytic data, Pornhub discovered that women’s viewing habits put videos with gay males in second, with the male league table pushing it back into seventh position. A penchant for women watching men masturbate also proved to be a strong contender in the rankings, with women accessing such material 132% more often than men.

Perhaps against expectations, women are also very comfortable with categories usually seen as a bit more suspect or darker. The Hardcore, Rough Sex, Double Penetration and Gangbang categories all showed women to be between 80-100% more likely to be lurking here.

In terms of ‘categories searched’, the ‘For Women’/fem is searched for 193% more often by women than men, which is to be expected. The well-documented growth of the genre is proving to be stimulating for female porn viewers worldwide.

In a strange twist, the most searched for pornstar by other women is human ornament Kim Kardashian, whose notorious sex tape propelled her into the spotlight a number of years ago. Male star James Deen sits in fifth place while Miley Cyrus, who has no sex tape or pornographic history whatsoever, nestles just inside the top 15 female searches. It’s either wishful thinking or an attempt to look for porn parodies.

While the biggest surprise may be women’s fondness for some of the rough stuff, there’s ultimately not much that stands out from this collection of data. Given the unprecedented access to porn now available, experimentation, curiosity and exploration are very much coming to the fore.
