One of the greatest and most underrated things about porn is that, regardless of how embarrassing or career-damaging a public scandal is, the adult industry will always have room for the infamous — often simply because of the nature of the public outrage.

Rachel Dolezal, former president of the Spokane National Association for the Advancement of Color People, has been all over the news in recent weeks due to her parents outing her as a white woman, while she had been pretending to be African-American for years.

Much has been debated about her race and identity. Some claim the term “transracial”, as a way to rationalize a person who has always felt like she belonged to a different race. Others just condemn her deceitful ways and serial lies.

But regardless of the side you take on the Dolezal issue, one thing was unavoidable: The adult industry was always going to come knocking on her door. Vivid Entertainment has extended an offer to Dolezal to star in her own sexually explicit video for the company.

“We would be very interested in distributing a new sex tape starring Rachel if she was on board with the project,” founder and co-chairman of Vivid Entertainment, Steven Hirsch, told In Touch Weekly. “We can arrange for her to have her pick of the top African-American male adult stars and collaborate with her on the content.”

Hirsch suggests that Dolezal’s media attention could generate a big payday for her, and the sum could easily be in the six figures. Having said that, he believes she should seize the time and act quickly, as fame is fleeting.

Dolezal, 37, allegedly participated in a homemade sex tape with her ex-husband, physical therapist Kevin Moore, whom she was married to from 2000 to 2005. However, according to papers obtained by The Daily News from Dolezal and Moore’s custody battle in 2004, she claims her participation in the sexual acts on camera was against her will. Moore denies it.

If she accepts Vivid’s proposal, Hirsch has said that at least this time around, she would have free reign in her own sex tape.

Vivid’s is actually the second offer Dolezal has publicly received to do porn. A few days earlier Dogfart, a company well known for their hardcore interracial scenes, had extended her a $50,000 contract to perform in four separate scenes for its websites — including WeFuckBlackGirls.com.

“She is a transracial woman who has worked extremely hard to achieve her level of success,” a Dogfart representative said. “She identifies as black just like Bruce Jenner identifies as Caitlyn Jenner; however, Jenner’s transition has been accepted with open arms; some even calling her a hero for the trans movement.”

Could this be the beginning of a bidding war? You never know! Once certain traditional doors start closing, it’s good to know porn’s will always be open.
