Hello boy and girls! Rejoice! For I am here to tell you that I’ve spent my precious time watching all the new shows out there so that you don’t have to. Sifting through all the shitty shows, I’ve handpicked 4 of the best ones you should be watching, because I want only the best for our readers here at BaDoink.

I know your time is precious, and you want your eyes to rest on only the best quality television, and I shall provide that. Through thorough research and strict scientific measures (mostly not falling asleep during show, and no excessive cussing (by me) because of a crappy script) I have collected some precious gems in the sea of shit that is our TV land. Behold, our list of 4 new TV shows you should be watching:

TV review
Brooklyn Nine Nine

Brooklyn Nine-Nine
Brooklyn Nine-Nine was the surprise winner of two Golden Globes this year (Best TV comedy and Best Actor in a TV comedy) and for good reason! It’s hilarious and quirky the way only 30 Rock could be and balances Andy Samberg’s could-get-annoying presence with a stellar cast. Seriously not only is this an awesomely diverse cast, they work incredibly well together, rivaling Community and the Lemon-Donaghy combo from 30 Rock. If you need any more convincing, two words: Terry Crews.

True Detective

True Detective
It’s really refreshing to see Matthew McConaughey play a role that isn’t Matthew McConaughey. He isn’t a charming, fast talking heartthrob; in fact he looks downright ordinary. And of course, Woody Harrelson. Each season is short, only eight episodes, and each season will feature a different set of actors and story. The story is interesting, the dialogue intelligent and the acting – Harrelson and McConaughey bring their best to the table. Win!

The Goldbergs

The Goldbergs
This is one of those shows that you think you might not like, but it turns out surprising you instead. Set in the late 1980s, the story is told by a young Adam Goldberg, who documents the exploits of his family with his video camera. It’s based on his actual childhood, and it’s really fun when they compare the actual videos Adam made in the 80s with the one re-enacted in the TV show. Surprisingly funny (probably because it brings back memories of my childhood?)!

TV review
Almost Human

Almost Human
I have to admit, when I first watched Almost Human, I didn’t like it. In fact it took a friend who sat me down to watch it through before I came around to it. Set in the future, where crime rates have skyrocketed, the police force has implemented a new rule where each officer is paired with an android in order to keep up with the criminals. Now, if you’re just starting out with this show, don’t judge it by it’s first episode. Give it some time, I swear it gets better!

2014 is bringing us a lot of other new shows, but don’t fret, I’m on it! I shall be back with more new shows you should be watching. For now, enjoy!
