Relationship Clichés: What They Really Mean
Regardless of who you date, no matter how long the relationship lasts; chances are you’ll hear some (if not all) of these old favorites. Here’s what they really mean.

Sometimes the person you want the most is the person you are best without.”

I like you but we DO NOT get along.

“Everything is going to be OK. Maybe not now or tomorrow, but eventually.”

You’ll get over this eventually, but it’s going to be horrible.

“Nobody else gets us.”

People do get you, but you are far too sickly/weird for them to stomach.

“We were on a break.”

Maybe but you should have been acting like a nun (or better still as if we were still together).

I’m sure you are The One”

I’m not sure.

It could happen to anyone.”

You are the only person this has ever happened to. How embarrassing.

“The Honeymoon Period.”

This is a fictitious piece of time, varied in length, that can only be determined by the fact you never choose when its over, unless you bring it up then it never existed.

It’s you and me against the world.”

Nobody likes us.

“Being in a relationship shouldn’t be this hard.”

This isn’t working for me.

“Not everything is black and white.”

Yes it is because she says so.

It’s not you; it’s me.”
